Dozens of ships and aircraft arrived for America’s 250th anniversary weekend.
NYC Activates Flash Flood Emergency Plan – City Hall activated the Flash Flood Emergency Plan before Monday’s storms. Agencies are clearing catch basins and staging emergency teams across the five boroughs. Heavy downpours could bring rapid street flooding and travel delays. Basement apartments, low-lying roads, and subway entrances are the biggest concern.
World Cup Fan Popups Open Across The City – Rockefeller Center is hosting World Cup watch parties and soccer programming through July 19. Entry is free, with matches shown throughout the day. House of GOAL is running at Industry City from July 3 to July 19. Organizers expect more than 200,000 visitors.
NYC Restaurant Week Dates Are Set – Summer Restaurant Week runs July 20 through August 16. Menus and reservations go live July 14.

Through Jul 19: World Cup Fan Village At Rockefeller Center – Watch matches at Rockefeller Center with soccer programming running through July 19. Free entry, with food and brand activations nearby.
Through Jul 19: Live Match Watch Parties At Manhattan West – Manhattan West Plaza is showing World Cup matches outdoors by Hudson Yards. Free entry, arrive early for seating.
Fri–Sat: Met Museum Date Nights — The Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts special Date Nights at the American Wing Café, featuring live music, drop-in gallery chats, and cocktails. Admission is pay-what-you-wish for New York State residents and students from NY, NJ, and CT with valid ID.
Weds, Jul 8, 6pm: Touching Grass Tour (Cadman Park Plaza) — Join the New York Yoga Club for an all-levels vinyasa practice in Cadman Plaza Park, designed to help you unplug and meet people. No yoga experience is needed for this summer series event.
Tue, Jul 7, 5–8:30pm: AI Builders Night New York — Head to LOFT39 for an evening dedicated to the masterminds behind modern AI, bringing together engineers, data practitioners, and founders. This event is presented by ClickHouse and Docker.
Tues, July 7: The Free Black Women's Library — The Free Black Women's Library in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, is a community space housing over 5,000 books by Black women authors. You can visit the 226 Marcus Garvey Boulevard location to read, work, or trade a book.
Thru Wed, July 8: Fleet Week — Fleet Week gets a supersized makeover this year, bringing military vessels from around the world into New York Harbor as part of the nation's 250th birthday celebration. Ship tours, demonstrations, and special exhibitions offer a rare chance to step aboard working vessels and get an up-close look at maritime history in motion.
Thru 4/30: Rooftop Cinema Club NYC: April Movie Lineup — Rooftop Cinema Club brought its popular open-air movie screenings to the Skylawn rooftop of the Embassy Suites in Midtown this past April. Attendees enjoyed a fantastic literary-themed lineup, including beloved films like Pride & Prejudice and The Great Gatsby.

Oberon, Lower East Side – Opening July 7 inside the expanded New Museum on the Bowery. The restaurant serves seasonal American food from the Oberon Group.
Unnecessary, Lower East Side – Ice cream store on Delancey Street from the Double Chicken Please team. Order cocktail-inspired soft serve, including a “dirty martini” ince cream.
Keepers, West Village – Opening July 7 with Jersey-style bar pies and cocktails. The team connects Zero Bond, White Horse Tavern, and Dandelion.
Bark Barbecue, Bushwick – The cult barbecue operation now has a Brooklyn home. The menu blends Dominican flavors with Central Texas technique.
Sailor And Siren, Greenpoint – The lobster roll pop-up is becoming a full restaurant. Seafood, caviar, and summer energy.
Shaver Hall, Midtown – A new food hall has opened with multiple concepts, including F&F Pizzeria. Good for office lunch when everyone wants different things.

Yankees Start Road Week Against Tampa Bay – The Yankees play four games at Tampa Bay from Monday through Thursday.
Mets Return To Citi Field Tuesday – The Mets play the Royals at Citi Field from Tuesday through Thursday. Boston comes in for a weekend series starting Friday.
Liberty Face Dallas On Tuesday – The New York Liberty play Dallas on July 7. It is one of only a few Liberty games early this month.
World Cup Final Countdown Continues – MetLife Stadium hosts the World Cup final on July 19. The next two weeks will continue to be packed with international fans.
